WHAKATANE TOUCH 2014 

 

This page showcases another St Stephens Old Boys event that took place on Saturday 11th January 2014 in Whakatane.  A team of 50+ Tipene Old Boys attended this annual event this year that has been running for 28 years of which the Tipene Old Boys from Eastern BOP were involved in the early years of the tournament beginnings.  This was the 3rd year Tipene Old Boys has entered a team and by far the biggest team of any of the teams in attendance.  Although the scorecards may not have been favourable this year, the brotherhood is very much alive and only can get bigger next year.  The Tipene Old Boys Eastern BOP branch did a fantastic job to host the team at the Paroa Rugby Clubrooms and this manaakitanga was further displayed to other teams hosted at the after match function at the clubrooms.  More Old Boy Associations have indicated their intention to participate in an Old Boys section next year - and no doubt the yellow and black will be there in force as can be seen in the photos below.
